Description

A wall mounted first aid box is a metal cabinet fixed to the wall at a known, visible point so that dressings and bandages are always in the same place when someone is hurt. This one is a green powder-coated steel box with a first-aid cross label on the door, and it is sold empty — you fill it with the first-aid supplies your workplace needs.

Why choose a wall mounted metal box?

  • Always in one place. A box screwed to the wall cannot be borrowed, moved to another floor or buried in a drawer.
  • Easy to find. Green with a white cross is the internationally used colour code for first aid, so visitors and new workers recognise it immediately.
  • Protects the contents. A closed steel cabinet keeps dust, sunlight and factory lint off sterile packs and keeps rodents out.
  • Easy to inspect. Shelves let a supervisor see at a glance what has been used and needs replacing.

Which size should you choose?

Size Approximate outside size Typical use
Small 30 × 25 × 10 cm Small office, shop, clinic reception, apartment guard room
Medium 40 × 30 × 12 cm Office floor, school, restaurant kitchen, workshop
Large 50 × 40 × 15 cm Factory floor, warehouse, construction site office

Under the Bangladesh Labour Act 2006, factories and establishments are expected to keep first-aid boxes or cupboards readily accessible during all working hours, with at least one for every 150 workers. Large factories usually install one box per floor or per production line rather than one big cupboard.

What should you put inside?

The box is supplied empty. A typical workplace list includes adhesive plasters, sterile gauze pads, gauze and elastic bandages, triangular bandages, adhesive tape, antiseptic solution, scissors, safety pins, disposable gloves and a first-aid guide. Follow the list required by your factory inspector, buyer audit or company doctor, and keep a contents sheet inside the door.

How do you install it?

Fix the box to a solid wall with screws and wall plugs through the holes in the back panel, with the centre of the box roughly at eye level (about 1.4–1.5 m from the floor). Choose a dry, well-lit spot near the work area, away from direct heat, and put a first-aid sign above it.

Applications

  • Garment and textile factory floors
  • Offices, banks and corporate floors
  • Schools, colleges and coaching centres
  • Restaurant kitchens and hotels
  • Workshops, warehouses and construction site offices
  • Apartment buildings and guard rooms

Recommended usage

Mount at eye level on a solid wall near the work area and mark the spot with a first-aid sign. Stock it according to your workplace list, name one trained person to be responsible for it, and check and refill the contents at least once a month and after every use.

Safety instructions

The box is supplied empty and does not contain any medicine or dressings. Do not lock it with a key that is not immediately available during working hours. Check expiry dates of the items you store inside, keep the box away from heat and damp, and do not store food, tools or chemicals in it.

Frequently asked questions

Does this first aid box come with medicine and bandages inside?

No, this wall mounted first aid box is sold empty. You stock it yourself with plasters, gauze, bandages, antiseptic and the other items on your workplace first-aid list, which lets you match the contents to your own risks and audit requirements.

How many first aid boxes does a factory need in Bangladesh?

The Bangladesh Labour Act 2006 calls for at least one first-aid box or cupboard for every 150 workers, readily accessible during all working hours. In practice most factories place one on each floor or production line so that nobody has to walk far, and buyer audits often check this.

At what height should a first aid box be mounted on the wall?

Mount the box so its centre is at about eye level, roughly 1.4 to 1.5 metres above the floor. At that height adults can see the shelves and reach every item without a stool, and the box stays clear of trolleys and floor washing.

Is a metal or a plastic first aid box better?

A metal wall box is better for a fixed first-aid point in a factory, office or school because it is sturdy, stays in place and holds more. A plastic box with a handle is better when the kit has to be carried to the injured person, for example at home, in a vehicle or on a site.
